Khanda and Gowhar pora residents aghast against Budgam Admin for allowing illegal mining

Budgam, 18 May ( KNS): Amid lockdown, hundreds of clay ladden tippers ply recklessly from iftar to sehri in Khanda Gowherpora area of District Budgam giving sleepless nights to people.
Our reporter while having a field visit to the area witnessed hundreds of clay ladden tippers moving recklessly during night hours from Karewas of Khanda , Chadoora Budgam .
Locals claim that plundering of karewas and state land has a covert support of some officials in Administration .
While speaking to this News agency, residents said they raised the issue through media many times but nothing has been done sofar to stop the state the land mafia from looting state resources.
He said" how can a public servant sleep by making his people sleepless and added the the inaction of police and Civil Adminstation has led errosion of faith among the people"
Our reporter observed that the close proximity of the area with pulwama is also being taken advantage of by the miners. DC pulwamas night raids and tough action against the illegal mining gave some relief but it didn't continue.
Residents said that despite section 144 is in place ,land mafia is defying it openly.
Why there is not lodging of FIR or slabing of PSA on the violators, residents questioned.
They added that the children , women , elderly and sick patients are worst sufferers and appealed Administration and police to act. (KNS)
