Chaya congratulates, urges elected members to work for unity

Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNS): Kashmir Chambers and Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Saturday announced the results of the votes polled recently to elect its executive committee members.
Results have shown that 12 elected members belong to the ‘United 21’ group, and nine belong to the ‘Credible 21’.
Ashiq Sheik as per reports has emerged as the President of the committee, followed by Nasir H Khan as senior Vice President.
Dr. Mir as been elected as the junior Vice-President, Farooq Amin as the General Secretary, Gowher Sheikh as the Joint Secretary and Manzoor as the Treasurer.
The result was announced in the 84th Annual General Meeting of the Chamber at the SKICC, Srinagar.
KCCI had concluded its counting of votes to elect its executive committee members on September 24. A total 1082 votes were polled.
Abdul Wahid, president of Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Owners Federation, led the list of winners, followed by Javid Tenga, Sheikh Ashiq and Farooq Amin.
Meanwhile, President of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir, Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya congratulated the new body for being elected as executive members of the committee.
Chaya urged the new body to work for unity for the betterment of the industry. “There is a need of unity and I hope the new body will work for it. We are in crises and the newly elected body must work for the betterment of the industry and trade,” he said. (KNS)
