Srinagar, June 06 (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation JKTDC on Saturday celebrated the World Environment Day 2022 across all it's units.
On the occasion a plantation drive was held at Srinagar Headquarters and Regional Office Jammu, which was presided by the MD JKTDC Syed Hamid Fakharudin.
MD JKTDC on the occasion as per news agency Kashmir News Service- KNS stressed upon the employees of the Corporation to remain committed to keep the environment clean, free from pollution and to conserve natural resources for making the lifestyle environment friendly.
A pledge was taken that the employees of the corporation will plant at least 50 trees each year and a target of planting more than 32000 plants/trees by December 2022 was set.
JKTDC authorities on the occasion announced that an essay competition on the topic “Sustianable Tourism” has been fixed scheduled to be held on 15-June.
"Five winners of the competition shall be given free accommodations for 2 nights and three days at destination of their choice", authorities said. (KNS)
