JKPM reiterates demand for judicial enquiry into Hyderpora encounter

Srinagar, Nov 24 (KNS): J&K Peoples Movement has reiterated the demand for a judicial enquiry into the Hyderpora encounter. In a press statement issued here, JKPM Vice President Solicitor Syed Iqbal Tahir said that they were not satisfied with the magisterial probe ordered into the incident.

He further said that LG Manoj Sinha had claimed that the probe into the shootout will be completed in 3-4 days but so far Magistrate has not even recorded the statements of the witness.

“The gruesome shootout has shaken the people of Jammu & Kashmir and in these circumstances, the least government can do is to ensure a prompt impartial investigation and punishment of the culprits”, Iqbal Tahir said in his statement.

He also demanded the immediate return of the body of Amir Magray — the third person killed in the Hyderpora encounter last week. (KNS)
