Srinagar August 8:(KNS) The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today recalled the selfless services and sacrifices of Father of the Nation and the then entire Congress leadership over launching August 9 1942 Quit India movement (Karanti Diwas) inorder to achieve freedom from the Foreign Rule.
They Party also expressed serious concern over the current worrying situation in the country due to the undemocratic approach adopted by the BJP Govt.
The JKPCC on Karanti Diwas has lauded the role of Mahatma Gandhi, who gave a call for quit India in his famous Do or Die speech demanding complete independence from the British rulers.
JKPCC also saluted the bravery of the then entire Congress Leadership, who energized the freedom movement and gave countless sacrifices for the prestige of the Nation, which will continue to inspire the people of India.
After achieving freedom, Congress Party worked very hard to unite people of different origins, languages and religions and made India a unique identity of secularism and pluralism as a result, the Independent India emerged as a largest democracy in the world in which every section and religion lived in unison and harmony during last 70 years of Congress Rule.
Congress Party has strengthened democratic institutions during 70 years of Independent India to ensure justice to every section of the Country, which were now under serious threat due to the undemocratic attitude adopted by the BJP Govt.
On this occasion JKPCC slammed the BJP Govt over eroding all democratic institutions in the country for the sake of remaining in power and termed the BJP as the best example of betrayal and backstabbing, which could go to any extent take control of every democratic institutions to muzzle the genuine voices being raised against its falsehood and political exploitation. BJP RSS was hellbent upon to erode every democratic institution in the country one after one, for the fact, they did not believe in democratic setup and celebrate erosion of institutions, which the people across the country have realized, PCC said.
The best way to rejoice Quit India Movement was to strengthen the secular fabric and multiplicity in the country, which was the hallmark of the Indian Constitution. Karanti Diwas was the outcome of the sacrifices of our leaders, who preferred to remain imprisoned rather than making compromises with the British Rulers like RSS did, PCC said.
Congress Party also fought against forces inimical to the diversity and multi-cultured identity of the Country and it will continue to defeat the designs of BJP RSS. PCC said
The Party paid glowing tributes to Father of the Nation, the then entire Congress Leadership and other freedom fighters on Karanti Diwas, who gave their blood for achieving the freedom from the British rulers, the Nation would continue to remain indebted to these freedom fighters, JKPCC added and laid emphasizing over securing and strengthening the democratic institutions in the Country, as that, will only ensure an atmosphere of safety and stability in the country.
JKPCC also appealed the people across the Country to rise to the occasion to save democracy and democratic institutions to ensure that people get justice and genuine voices were not cramped by the ruling dispensation.
The Nation should rise to the occasion to fight against the autocracy and misleading politics of BJP and RSS, besides defeating their designs in the larger interests of Indian democracy, peace and stability. JKPCC said.(KNS)
