JKPCC chief calls on LG Sinah; impresses upon to augment health care services, others


Srinagar Oct 1 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir called on Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar today and discussed various issues confronting the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
JKPCC President G.A.Mir had a detailed discussions with the LG with regard to the growing concerns over covid situation and various issues confronting people in Jammu and Kashmir and sought their resolution, on priority basis.
JKPCC President apprised LG Manoj Sinha that there is larger concerns among the people due to enormous rise in Covid-19 cases both in Jammu and Kashmir and the reports of storage of Oxygen and doctors, /"paramedics etc and sought availability of ventilators and other facilities in hospitals to provide respite to people, who are confronted with a distressing situation, besides the fear attributed to rise in Covid 19 Cases. He also sought engagement of doctors and paramedics to deal with emerging situation.
JKPCC President apprised LG Sinha about hardships confronting fruit growers, who have suffered immense losses due to the ugliest situation in Valley and laid emphasizes over ensuring free movement of fruit laden trucks to different parts of the country from Kashmir inorder to avoid further losses to growers.
Mir also apprised the LG that there are thousands of daily wagers/casual labourers/needs based workers in different departments for a long time and sought regular wages and their regularization and other service benefits to them. He (Mir) also invited LG’s attention to the rising unemployment in J&K and laid emphasized over creating of employment opportunities for them (Youth).
Both Sinha and G.A.Mir held threadbare discussions over the functioning of PRIs in J&K, G.A.Mir urged that Panchayats must be fully empowered as per the 73rd Amendment of Constitution of India, which stands mostly already incorporated and the three tyre panchayat system is bound to ensure developmental at grass roots level, which has to be ensured in the larger interest of common people.
G.A.Mir also laid emphasized over release of political detenues lodged in different jails post August 5 2019 and told the LG that this step will help in creating a cordial political atmosphere in valley.
The security issue of mainstream Political Leaders also came under discussion, JKPCC President urged the LG to ensure adequate security to political leaders irrespective of party lines to ensure their security and movement to create a peaceful political atmosphere to ensure resumption of political process before any kind of decision with regard to forthcoming elections is taken.
Mir also apprised the LG about the developmental process in J&K, which has come to standstill due to the disturbing situations and told him (LG) that scores of important projects are still incomplete even after crossing the timeline, some have been left half way without any reason and urged that development process must get the special attention.
On this occasion JKPCC President also discussed the killing of Sarpanch Syed Mohd Rafi, who was killed during back to village programme at Hakura Bodsgam in Anantnag District on Nov 26 2019 and briefed the LG about the hardships confronting his (Syed Mohd Rafiq’s) family.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha fully assured G.A. Mir that the issues raised by him will be looked into for their resolution, on priority basis. (KNS)
