JKAP Alleges Large-scale Irregularities in PMAY Allotments in Bandipora Villages

Bandipora, July 10(KNS): The District President of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) in Bandipora, Shafaat Qazmi, has raised serious concerns over alleged large-scale irregularities in the allotment of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) cases in the villages of Bandipora.

In a statement issued here, Qazmi claimed that the allotment process has been marred by favoritism, with influential and wealthy individuals, known as "blue-eyed" persons, being given priority over deserving and economically disadvantaged applicants who have been sidelined.

He called upon the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and other relevant authorities to initiate a thorough investigation into the matter and hold the responsible officers accountable.

The PMAY is a flagship housing scheme initiated by the Indian government to provide affordable housing to economically weaker sections of society. The program aims to address the housing needs of the urban and rural poor, including those living in remote areas.

Qazmi's allegations have sparked concerns among local residents and members of the community who had high hopes for the PMAY scheme to uplift the living standards of those in need. The alleged irregularities, if proven true, could undermine the noble objectives of the program and hinder its effectiveness in addressing housing challenges in Bandipora.

The JKAP District President's call for a thorough probe by the DC and relevant authorities reflects the party's commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in government programs.

“ I hope that an impartial investigation will be conducted, and if any wrongdoing is found, appropriate actions will be taken against those responsible,” he added.(KNS).
