JK Tourism Council collaborates with tourism department to boost industry, enhance services

Srinagar, Jul 13 (KNS): A group of delegates from the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Council met director Tourism to discuss strategies for advancing tourism industry in the Union Territory.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), during the productive meeting, the council presented its mission and vision to Director Tourism Raja Yaqoob Farooq along with a comprehensive set of proposals aimed at establishing a globally recognized standard of services and leveraging data-driven research-oriented technology.

President of the Tourism Council Ashfaq Ahmad expressed optimism about the reception and positive feedback from the director regarding the proposed initiatives.

While highlighting the council's pivotal role in driving transformative change within the industry, he started that comprised of a diverse mix of ground-level workers and industry leaders, the year-old council operates as a non-profit organization under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, fostering collaboration and striving to elevate the quality of tourism services in the breathtaking Valley.

He emphasized the council's strong commitment to skill development and its goal of propelling tourism in Jammu and Kashmir to new heights.

"Training workshops are crucial in uplifting our workforce and ensuring they possess the necessary skills to provide world-class hospitality", he further stated.

"In the upcoming weeks, the council plans to conduct a series of workshops focused on training and skill development, unlocking the true potential of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir and creating a brighter future for both the economy and its people", he added. (KNS)
