National Conference MP Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan on Thursday extended support to the students protesting the alleged NEET paper leak, demanding compensation for the families of aspirants who reportedly died by suicide and reiterating his party's call for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

 

In a statement issued here, Ramzan said the opposition stands in solidarity with the agitating youth, who have been seeking justice and accountability over the alleged irregularities in the medical entrance test. He said the row had eroded the confidence of students and parents in the examination system.

 

The NC leader voiced support for the protesters, including those from the "CJP" group, which has been holding a demonstration at Jantar Mantar for over 20 days. He asserted that his party fully backs their demands for justice.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

 

Ramzan reiterated that Pradhan should quit, owning moral responsibility for the alleged lapses. He also sought adequate compensation and all possible assistance for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the controversy.

 

Condemning the reported use of force against the demonstrators, Ramzan termed the police action unacceptable and demanded strict action against the personnel involved in assaulting the protesters. He asserted that peaceful protests were a democratic right and should not be met with force.

 

The MP urged the Union government to order a fair and transparent probe into the alleged paper leak, fix responsibility on the guilty, and take concrete steps to restore the confidence of students and parents in the examination process. (KNS)
