J&K Tourism Council holds inaugural annual general meet in Srinagar

Srinagar December 16 (KNS): After a successful year, the JK Tourism Council convened its inaugural Annual General Meeting in Srinagar, focusing on the theme of #Sustainability and #Skill in the Tourism Industry. 


Distinguished officials Mr. Ahsan ul Haq Chisti, Dr. Reyaz Ahmad Qurreshi, Dr. Faizan Ashraf from the Department of Tourism, Kashmir, University of Kashmir, Central University of Kashmir respectively, and besides officials from Institute of Hotel Management, alongside JK Tourism Council members, attended the event. 

The session fostered a fruitful exchange of ideas among Public Policy Makers, academia, and industry representatives, garnering appreciation from participants for introducing such interactive platforms to the industry. 

During the meeting, the JK Tourism Council presented its Annual Report, outlined future plans, and expanded its Executive Council by adding four new members through an innovative, fair, and transparent election process. 

The day-long event also featured the presentation of awards, including the Best Travel Agent of the Year (2022-23) awarded to Duke Kashmir Travels  and the Best Product of the Year Award (2022-23) also claimed by Duke Kashmir Travels. Additional accolades were bestowed upon Hotel Namrose Marvilla Group , and Aala Travels for their noteworthy support throughout the year. 

Recognition for the Best Executive Member during the year 2022-23 was granted to Mr. Rayies Zargar, while Mr. Manzoor Kundroo earned the distinction of Best General Member of the Year. 

The JK Tourism Council expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries and members for their presence, contributing to the immense success of the occasion.(KNS)
