Srinagar, Nov 24 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir police have cautioned public over fake WhatsApp profile using Director General RR Swain’s photo as display picture and said that action under law has been initiated.
In a statement, issued to KNS, as spokesperson said that a fraudster has created a fake WhatsApp profile using the number +998914128090 with photo of DGP Rashmi Ranjan Swain as DP.
The statement reads that action as warranted under law has been initiated.
“It is informed that since it is a fake profile created with malicious intention, no one should respond to this number. Any transaction with this account resulting in a loss or otherwise be reported to the nearest Police Station or Cyber Police Station Srinagar or Jammu.”
It added that the matter can be reported on these numbers - Cyber Police Station Jammu – 0191-2436709 and Cyber Police Station Srinagar – 9596770555. (KNS)
