Ashmuqam, June 30 (KNS): Expressing pain over the loss of property worth crores in a devastating fire incident at Aishmuqam the intizaamia committee Hazrat Zain u din Reshi (RA) has appealed the LG administration and district administration to extend all possible help for the rehabilitation and resettlement of the poor fire victims who lost their shops and houses.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), president of the committee Mohammad Yaqoob Gadiyal has requested the affluent class to come forward for the help of the needy so that they can revive their small business again.

While appreciating the courage of Aishmuqam people, he expressed concern and shock about non-functioning of the fire service, which couldn’t deliver the duty because of some technical fault at a time when it was needed the most.

As per the statement, he termed it negligence of the fire service team deployed in Aishmuqam and has urged DC Anantnag for immediate action in this regard.

The committee has appealed the Divisional and District administration to extensively do a safety mapping of the whole Aishmuqam as it is the abode of revered Sufi saint, which has huge heritage structures and need all safety precautions in and around it for which the people of the area have demanded a clear demarcation of the area so that the haphazard structures around the shrine can be removed as soon as possible.

The committee also has requested the revenue, police and other authorities to speed up the process of assessment, so that the relevant relief can be delivered to the victims.

People and intizaamia committee have thanked Tehsildar, SHO Aishmuqam and 3 RR, who also helped the people in dousing off the fire on time. (KNS)
