Srinagar, Jul 14 (KNS): A delegation representing leaseholders and industrial unit owners of the Industrial Estate at Pampore on Tuesday met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and sought the early handover of possession of allotted land, saying the issue has remained unresolved for nearly six years.
The delegation, comprising members of the Core Group of Industrial Estate Pampore and led by the president of the Brick and Tile Industrial Estate Lease Holders Association, said the delay in handing over possession has adversely affected investments, industrial activity and employment generation.
The members urged the government to resolve the issue on a priority basis so that entrepreneurs can establish their industrial units and commence business operations.

According to a statement issued by the Core Group, Abdullah assured the delegation that he was aware of the issue and said the matter would be taken up once the proposal is placed before the Cabinet.
The chief minister assured the delegation that he would ensure approval of the proposal so that entrepreneurs waiting for years could get relief, the statement said.
The delegation expressed hope that the government's assurance would help resolve the long-pending issue and pave the way for leaseholders to take possession of their allotted land and begin work on their industrial projects.(KNS).
