New Delhi, Aug 3 (KNS): Opposition leaders of the INDIA bloc on Monday held a strategy meeting at the chamber of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, with National Conference MP Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan pitching for a united protest on August 5 over the Jammu and Kashmir statehood issue.
The meeting, also attended by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, deliberated on key parliamentary and national issues as the Opposition looks to corner the government during the ongoing session, sources said.
Ramzan, the Lok Sabha member from Srinagar, urged the alliance partners to join a peaceful demonstration at Makar Dwar against the Centre's "unilateral decisions" on Jammu and Kashmir.

The INDIA bloc leaders expressed solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and conveyed their willingness to participate in the proposed protest on August 5, sources added.
They reaffirmed their commitment to constitutional values and democratic rights while supporting the demand for restoration of full statehood to the Union Territory. (KNS)
