Illicit timber recovered from smugglers in Rafiabad village

Sopore, Nov 26 (KNS): Sopore police along with forest department on Friday recovered large quantity of illicit timber from smugglers in Fidarpora village of Rafiabad.  

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that acting on a specific input a team of police headed by SHO Police station Dangiwacha Imtiyaz Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Mohammad Ameen Bhat raided Fidarpora village and recovered illicit forest timber from two smugglers. 

The officer identified the duo as Abdul Qayoom Mir son of Abdul Razzak Mir and Abdul Ahad Hajam son of Mohammad Rajab Hajam—both residents of Fidarpora Rafiabad. 

The official said that a case FIR No. 189/2021 U/S 379 IPC & 26 Indian Forest Act has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha. (KNS)
