Srinagar, Sept 09 (KNS): Several license holders of rice thrashers from Kralgund Qaziabad and Rafiabad in north Kashmir on Wednesday said authorities have given free hands to illegal rice thrasher in the area who are snatching the livelihood of real ones.
While talking to KNS, licensed rice thrashers said they are paying electric fee and other required taxes towards government and are regularly maintaining legal documents but despite of all this, few illegal rice thrashers are roaming in the area due to which their livelihood is at risk.
They said that they have sold their land to buy the rice thrasher machines while some of them have taken loan from banks to survive in tough times.
A rice thrasher Mohammad Ramzan Rather said illegal rice thrash owners have given free hand by officials in the administration due to which employment of educated youth has been affected.
He said Tehsildar Qaziabad has been communicated in this regard and soon Deputy Commissioners (DCs) Kupwara and Baramulla will also be informed about the matter to take action against the illegal rice thrashers. (KNS)
