Hasnain grieved over loss of property in fire incident at Lessu

Srinagar 09 June (KNS): Member Parliament Anantnag and JKNC leader Hasnain Masoodi has expressed deep shock and grief over loss of property in a devastating fire incident at Lessu Barnard, Larno.

The fire mishap reduced to ashes the residential houses of Ghulam Hassan Mantoo and Mohamad Akbar Shiekh resulting in huge loss to the affected families. He has expressed shock that Fire and Emergency Service reportedly reached the spot 3 hours after the fire broke out.

It is distressful that the fire station at Larno has not been made operational though the building has been since handed over by the executing agency to the Department and resultantly an important emergency Service remains unavailable in a hilly area.

Masoodi today spoke to Principal Secretary Home Department and requested that bottlenecks if any be forthwith removed and the Fire Station be made operational. Masoodi has asked the administration to organise relief and rehabilitation work so that the affected families are provided immediate support.

He has demanded that free building material, ration and cash assistance be provided to the fire victims.(KNS)
