Srinagar, Sep 5 (KNS) Encounter started between militants and government forces in Baskuchan area of South Kashmir's Shopian district on Monday.
An official said that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area. "As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight," he said.
"Encounter has started at Baskuchan area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet while confirming the Gunfight.(KNS)
