Srinagar, Sep 14 (KNS) An encounter rages between militants and government forces in Nowgam area of central kashmir's Srinagar city on Wednesday evening.
An official said that a joint team of police cordon and search operation in the area after a specific input was generated. "As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight," he said.
On a specific input generated by Police, an encounter has started in Nowgam area of Srinagar District. Srinagar Police and 50RR are on the job. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet while confirming the Gunfight.(KNS)
