Srinagar, August 19 (KNS): Prof. Saifuddin Soz, Former Union Minister and congress leader accused Modi administration of Unconstitutionally Changing the Demographic Profile Of J&K.
“I wonder and feel deeply concerned on Modi’s unconstitutional Formulla of Demographic Change in J&K State, especially, in Kashmir. I further wonder whether the Kashmir Mainstream has shown adequate reaction to this disastrously open move to change the demographic profile of the J&K State," he said in a statement issued to KNS.
"As a first reaction to Modi’s Disruptionist Move in Kashmir, the Kashmir Mainstream must show a visibly and qualitatively different reaction. Kashmir Mainstream leadership should close its ranks and stand extraordinarily united,." he added.
Congress leader further said "Since the time has come for the Mainstream J&K Political class to come forward for a decisive battle against brazenly undemocratic and unconstitutional step by Modi Govt., to change the demographic profile of the state."
"The Mainstream Political Class in J&K should immediately declare its reaction to this decisively disruptionist move, by presenting a Memorandum to the President of India,!" he added.
He also said that "the main theme of the Memorandum has to be that the people of J&K State would, under no circumstances, accept any change in the settled Demographic Profile of the J&K State."
"The Kashmir Mainstream should declare in clear terms that if peace is disturbed in the J&K State, the blame for that would lie with the Modi Administration!
Before leaving for Delhi to present a memorandum to the President of India, the Mainstream Leadership should give a call for a General Strike and ask people to stand united, extra-ordinarily, at this critical juncture in our history,” he said.(KNS)
