Govt girls school in Poonch’s Mandi closed for 5 days after 35 students test Covid positive

Srinagar, Oct 05 (KNS): The authorities have ordered closure of government girls higher secondary schools Mandi in Poonch district for 5 days after 35 students were reported positive on Tuesday during Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) in the school.

An order, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), issued by chief education officer Poonch, Abdul Majid stated that as reported by Principal HSS Girls Mandi, 35 students of the school have been tested positive for COVID-19 during the Rapid Antigen Testing in the school today. 

“Accordingly as a precautionary measure, the school shall remain closed for 05 days w.e.f 06-10-2021 to 10-10-2021. The Principal HSS Girls Mandi will ensure the sensitisation of the school premises including all class rooms, Labs, office etc. in consultation with BMO Mandi. Moreover, the COVID Positive students shall be asked for home isolation as per the protocol of COVID-19 and their parents shall be informed accordingly for strict adherence of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB),” reads the order.

It reads that all the staff members and students of the school shall also follow the COVID-19 guidelines in letter and spirit and get themselves tested for COVID-19.

“Further more, all the Principals, ZEOs and Headmasters are also directed to ensure the adherence of COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines issued from time to time in respect of institutions falling under their control,” it reads. (KNS)
