Govt.’s economic package must include Tribal community: Kadfeen

Srinagar, May 14 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Thursday has demanded that the economic package announced by the central government in view of the COVID 19 lockdown must also reach the affected tribal community in Kashmir which is reeling under distress due to the prevalent pandemic.
In a statement issued to KNS, Kadfeen said that the tribal community scattered across Jammu and Kashmir has been bearing the brunt of the lockdown in a ruthless manner and its livelihood has been severely hit.
He added that the government must identify the people within the community who have been rendered jobless by the lockdown and are spending days of stress and disdain at the present time.
Kadfeen maintained further that besides other segments that deserve government’s help and financial assistance, Tribal community needs a comprehensive financial package for the survival.
The Congress leader added that due to the lockdown and the reason that Tribals live in far flung hamlets of the state, the community is facing severe dearth of the essential commodities at the present time. He added that government must prioritise its efforts in providing immediate relief to the affected people on priority.(KNS)
