Government recruitment must be regular, vacancies filled within fixed timeline: AIP

Anantnag, August 27 (KNS) : AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, while addressing a youth interaction programme at Keherbal, Anantnag, said the government must make recruitment regular, fill vacancies within a fixed timeline and give equal attention to creating sustainable private-sector jobs and investment opportunities.

Referring to the latest JKPSC figures as per Statement issued here, Inam said 94,546 applications were received for just 960 posts in 2025-26, meaning nearly 99 aspirants for every post. Applications have also increased by around 52% over the previous year, while more than 3.11 lakh applications were received over the last five years.

“Behind every application is a young person with hopes, dreams and a family that has invested years and resources in their education.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelOur youth should not lose heart because opportunities are limited. Their talent and potential are far greater than the number of vacancies available today,” Inam said.

He stressed that government recruitment alone cannot absorb the growing number of educated youth. “We need a predictable recruitment calendar, timely filling of vacancies and a serious push for private investment, entrepreneurship and employment generation in J&K.”

Inam urged the youth to remain hopeful and continue pursuing their goals, assuring them that their concerns must remain at the centre of political and policy discussions.(KNS)
