Srinagar, 03 Aug (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women's Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous Monday said the National Conference government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring inclusive development, responsive governance and the welfare of the people, despite functioning under constitutional and administrative constraints.
Addressing a meeting of party workers, Shameema said the government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is making every possible effort to address public grievances, improve the delivery of essential services and accelerate developmental works by optimally utilizing every available resource.
She said the National Conference has always regarded public service as its foremost responsibility, whether in government or in the opposition. The party, she added, continues to draw inspiration from the vision of its founder, Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and Begum Akbar Jehan, whose enduring legacy is rooted in public service, democratic values, social justice and the protection of the rights and dignity of the people.
Expressing optimism over the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood, Shameema said an early decision by the Union Government would empower the democratically elected government to implement developmental initiatives and public welfare programmes with greater efficiency and institutional authority.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
She observed that the prolonged deprivation of several democratic and constitutional rights over the past years has created widespread anxiety among the people. The Union Government, she said, must take meaningful measures, in keeping with democratic traditions and constitutional principles, to restore public confidence by returning these rights to the people.
Calling upon party functionaries to strengthen their engagement with the public, Shameema urged workers to actively identify and highlight the concerns and aspirations of the people while sincerely working towards their resolution. She also asked the cadre to effectively communicate the achievements and public welfare initiatives undertaken by the present government over the past one and a half years in the fields of development, good governance and public service.(KNS)
