Inaugurates Pahari Culture centre, lauds role of Save Sharda Committee

Kupwara,July 29 (KNS): Commander 15 Corps Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai on Saturday visited Sharda Temple and Gurudwara in Teetwal along the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district along with his wife. 

An official said that he was received by Sharda Temple Committee members Ajaz Khan, S. Joginder Singh, Hridyayanand Pujari amongst other locals and yatris from South India present there. 

Chairman Save Sharda Committee Ravinder Pandita thanked the army generals who visited the recently inaugurated temple at Teetwal today.  

This was the first visit of the General to Teetwal after taking over on 14 June this year. The temple was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in presence of LG Manoj Sinha, MP Tejaswi Surya and Head of Save Sharda Committee Ravinder Pandita on March 22 this year. 

Pilgrims and dignitaries have been thronging the temple since its consecration.

Lt General 15 Corps also inaugurated a Pahari Culture centre in Tangdhar area and also lauded the efforts of locals for keeping the age old tradition of communal brotherhood alive. (KNS)
