Urges Govt to compensate the affected families, shopkeepers

New Delhi March 2 (KNS): All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee President Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Saturday described the damages caused to several structures and shops in Veering as most unfortunate.

The gusty winds have hit the Verinag area in South Kashmir today leaving dozens of families homeless, besides causing damages to shops, Mir rued.
 
In a statement Ghulam Ahmad Mir expressed disappointment and anguish over the damages caused to dozens of residential houses and shops due to gusty winds that hit the Veering and other adjacent villages in South Kashmir terming the incident most unfortunate.
 
AICC General Secretary urged the Govt to assess the losses and ensure timely compensation to affected families and shop keepers, on war footing basis.
 
I felt disturbed and equally anguished  to learn about the losses to people in Verinag and other adjacent villages in South Kashmir caused due to gusty winds in South Kashmir on Saturday, I sincerely share their anguish and pain, Mir added.(KNS)
