Four militants killed in Shopian encounter; 9 in last 24 hours: IGP Kashmir

Shopian, June 08 (KNS): Four militants were killed and two security personnel were injured in an encounter in Pinjura village of South Kashmir’s Shopian on Monday morning. This is the second encounter in Shopian in the last 24 hours. Nine militants have been killed in the two operations. Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service said that four militants have been killed while as three soldiers were injured in an exchange of fire.
Earlier a joint team of Police, army’s 44 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area, as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
Pertinently to mention that 9 militants have been killed in last 24 hours in south Kashmir 5 militants including a top Hizb commander were killed in an encounter at Reban Shopian on Sunday.
Pertinently after Sunday's gunfight internet services were snapped in Shopian and Kulgam districts of South Kashmir.
Meanwhile IGP kashmir zone Vijay Kumar have also confirmed the killings of four militates to KNS and said the identification of the militants is being ascertained.
