Srinagar, Aug 27 (KNS) : Former senior bureaucrat, politician and Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Ghazanfar Ali, passed away on Thursday night at SMHS Hospital.

According to his family, Ghazanfar Ali had suffered a major heart attack on May 18, 2026, following which he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, where he underwent treatment. He was later discharged from the hospital.

However, his condition reportedly deteriorated on Thursday, and he breathed his last at around 10:00 PM, leaving his family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers in deep shock and grief.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Editor-in-Chief of Kashmir News Service, Mohd Aslam Bhat, expressed profound grief over the demise of Ghazanfar Ali, describing him as a respected administrator and public figure. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.(KNS)
