Handwara, June 10 (KNS); Forest Department has retrieved 800 kanals of encroached land in Compartment Number 41 43, 44, 47 in Hanginoot Magam in Langate Forest Division.
As per reports, an information was received in Range Office Magam regarding encroachment in Compartment Numbers.
Acting on the information, a team of territorial and Forest Protection Force (FPF) was constituted to remove encroachment.
A total of 800 kanals was retrieved from land grabbers by Forest Department despite resistance from the locals.
The forest team also removed wooden/PCC poles along with brushwood that were erected by the encroachers.
The operation was carried out by the Range Officer Rashid-ud-din Pandith under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer Langate Abdul Hameed Malla .

He appealed to the locals to ensure that no damage to forest is being caused during the period of lockdown.
