17 shopkeepers penalized, Rs 5600 fine imposed

KUPWARA, DECEMBER 12 (KNS): On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray, the Enforcement team headed by Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCSCA) today conducted an  extensive market checking in Kupwara Town.

      During the  inspection of various markets, 17 defaulters (erring Shopkeepers) were penalised and a fine of Rs 5600 was imposed. Moreover  4 Quintal of substandard/rotting vegetables were also distorted on spot.
 
     Meanwhile shopkeepers were asked to display Government approved ratelists in their shops and follow Food Safety and Standard Act and  consumer acts strictly.

The erring shopkeepers were also asked to avoid selling substandard items and warned about strict action including seizure of their shops in case they are found guilty.(KNS)
