Srinagar September 24:(KNS) Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Thursday has termed the growing protests by the Indian farmers against the farm bill of 2020 as a grim reminder of how nasty things in the country has become and the depressed classes are being made to suffer by the current regime in an absolutely inhuman manner.

Kadfeen in a statement said that those backing the government over the abrogation of Article 370 has now learned in an ample manner how the government is employing illegitimate means in getting the bills passed in the parliament while caring little about the rule book and the constitution.

He added that the way in which the farm bill of 2020 was passed was illegal in entirety and can easily be challenged in the court of law. He said that the division of vote was not done in the Rajya Sabha even when several members demanded the same. According to Kadfeen, the audio of the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha was muted and MPs were not even allowed to raise their point of view. “This is symptomatic to the totalitarian governance and needs remedial. Farmers that comprise of India’s 80 percent of the workforce has been coerced to hit the streets and make their woes heard. The government which was ought to protect the interests of this community is brutally selling them to the corporate houses,” said Kadfeen.(KNS)
