Srinagar, July 24 (KNS): President of the Jammu & Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi, on Friday asserted that true faith (Iman) in Islam is far more than a verbal declaration; it is a comprehensive system founded upon divine knowledge, conviction, righteous deeds, moral excellence, and complete submission to the commandments of Allah and the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (AS).
Addressing the weekly Friday congregation at the Markazi Imambara, Budgam, Aga Syed Hassan said that faith devoid of practical commitment, ethical conduct, and responsibility loses its true essence. He stressed that Islam calls upon believers to translate their faith into action through piety, sincerity, justice, honesty, and service to humanity.
Drawing extensively from the Holy Qur'an and the traditions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the infallible Imams (AS), particularly Imam Musa al-Kazim (AS) and Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (AS), the Anjuman President elaborated on the nature, levels, and practical dimensions of faith. He explained that faith is not a static condition but a dynamic spiritual journey that grows through knowledge, certainty, devotion, perseverance, righteous conduct, and unwavering trust in Allah.
He said that the Holy Qur'an describes true believers as those whose hearts are filled with awe at the remembrance of Allah, whose faith increases upon hearing His revelations, and who place absolute trust in their Creator. Such believers, he added, reflect the teachings of Islam not only through worship but through exemplary character and responsible conduct in every sphere of life.

Aga Syed Hassan further stated that Islam assigns moral and spiritual responsibility to every faculty of the human being. The heart, tongue, eyes, ears, hands, feet, and every aspect of human conduct must function in accordance with divine guidance. Genuine faith, he said, manifests itself through honesty, justice, compassion, self-restraint, and unwavering obedience to Allah.
Emphasising the challenges confronting the Muslim Ummah, he called upon Muslims, particularly the youth, to strengthen their relationship with the Holy Qur'an and the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (AS), cultivate sound moral character, and contribute positively to society through integrity, discipline, and public service.
Referring to the eternal message of Karbala, Aga Syed Hassan said that the supreme sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) established an enduring standard of steadfastness, truth, and resistance against oppression. He observed that the legacy of Karbala continues to inspire believers to uphold justice, defend human dignity, and remain resolute in safeguarding the principles of Islam under all circumstances.
The Anjuman President also urged the Muslim community to promote unity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility in addressing the challenges facing the Ummah. He concluded his sermon with special prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity across the Muslim world, invoking Allah's mercy upon the oppressed Muslims, particularly in Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, and Gaza, and praying for the unity, strength, and success of the Islamic Ummah.
