Association Urges PM Modi, EAM S Jaishankar

Srinagar, June 09 (KNS): J&K Students Association here on today demanded immediate evacuation of Kashmiri students, stranded in Pakistan. In a Statement issued, Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said Govt of India hasn't utter a single word till now about the evacuation of the Students from Pakistan. He said that Students stranded there are facing hardships due to lockdown.

In a statement issued to KNS, he said that their living conditions continue to deteriorate and they are left there on God's Mercy. The mental anguish that comes with staying in place far away from home is hard to explain. we don't know why Govt of India is hesitant to Evaucate these stranded Students. Students are helplessly waiting for some mode of transportation to reach their homes. He said that, we spoke to many such students, They want to come back but authorities don't pay any heed to their Plea. when students approached to embassy, were unheeded & disallowed constantly. Govt of India must evacuate them and open movement through Wagah Border. They had been told on May 19 to fill forms to be evacuated soon, but that seems to be useless.

Junaid Rather, General Secretary of Association said that immediate measures & special arrangements should be made for the safe evacuation of Kashmiri students stranded in Pakistan. Students are running out of money now, Students are getting frustrated & are anxiously waiting to go home, he added.

Junaid Requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar to direct Concerned officials of Indian Embassy in Pakistan to act Swiftly and provide necessary assistance to J&K students stranded in Pakistan and to initiate their safe evacuation at an earliest. He urged Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister to make all possible efforts to resolve the issue at the earliest as these students and other people are in mental depression, anxiety & are worrying their parents and families in Kashmir Valley too.
