Srinagar, June 14 (KNS): Senior People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Ex VC JK Cements, Er Nazir Ahmad Yatoo on Sunday paid tribute to late Syed Shujaat Bukhari on his second death anniversary.

In a statement issued to KNS, PDP leader said that, He (Shujaat) was a wonderful soul and a patron to hundreds of budding journalists in Kashmir."

He said that being a journalist Shujaat Bukhari was working for restoring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and forces inimical to peace silenced his voice.

“Shujaat will be always remembered for his professional journalistic acumen and a void created due to his gruesome killing would be difficult to fill in near future in the field of journalism of J&K”, Yatoo said while paying tributes to Shujaat in his second death anniversary.

“Shujaat was an institution and media fraternity in J&K has been deprived of a courageous and independent journalist”, Yatop said and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Yatoo said that, Shujaat promoted ethics full journalism, he laid sound and strong foundations of the journalism in Kashmir and throughout his life he worked hard towards that endeavour. (KNS)
