EOW conducts searches in DOB manipulation case involving health official in J-K

 Srinagar, June 13 (KNS):  The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch, Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday conducted searches at the office and residence of a senior health department official in connection with an alleged date-of-birth manipulation case, officials said.

 
The searches were carried out at the office of the Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO), Shopian, and his residence in Thamuna area of Pulwama district as part of an ongoing investigation into a case registered under relevant sections of law, they said.
 
According to officials, the case pertains to the alleged fraudulent insertion and manipulation of date-of-birth entries in service records to obtain undue benefits.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
Documents and other materials linked to the investigation were seized and are being examined, they said.
 
The searches were conducted in accordance with legal procedures and in the presence of independent witnesses, officials added.
 
The EOW has urged people to remain vigilant against economic offences and report such cases to the agency. Complaints can also be submitted through its official email, officials said.(KNS)
