Srinagar, July 19(KNS): Police in Bandipora's Quilmuqam village have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession

In a statement issued to Kashmir news service (KNS), the police said that acting on a specific information,a police party led by I/C Police Post Aloosa SI Shakeel Ahmad, under the supervision of DYSP HQRs Bandipora Shri Mohmad Idrees -JKPS during naka checking at Quilmuqam Aloosa arrested a drug peddler along with 300 Tablets of Proxywel Spos. 

The Police said that the accused has been identified as Fida Hussain Mir son of Mohd Shaban Mir ofvWard No. 06 Bandipora. 

"During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the recovered drugs were meant to be supplied to youths of the area to make them drug addicts, " it reads. 

"Accordingly case FIR No. 121/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up," Police said. 

It futher reads that people are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and help police in eradicating the menace of drugs. (KNS).
