Karnah, June 22 (KNS) : The residents of ward number 7 of Dildar Bhatpora village in Karnah in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district are up in arms against the Jal Shakhti department for failing to provide them with adequate water supply.

Local residents while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that they have been facing acute shortage of drinking water supply for the past several days, however the concerned department is least bothered about their genuine demand.

“We are facing an acute shortage of drinking water supply. The authorities have turned a deaf ear towards our repeated pleas. They are making no effort to ease our difficulties,” Amjid Shakoor, a local resident said.

'Har Ghar Nal Sy Jal' claim of government has fallen flat as we have been suffering due to the scarcity of drinking water supply from at least week , said Rashid Khan and Mushtaq Ahmad, "We are being forced to fetch water and drink contaminated water which is unhygienic and health hazardous for us", they added.

They however, appealed concerned authorities again to look into the matter and fulfill their demand at the earliest.(KNS)
