Karnah, July 24 (KNS) : The residents of Bhatpora village in Karnah area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district are up in arms against the Jal Shakhti department for failing to provide them adequate water supply.

Local residents while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said, that they have been facing acute shortage of drinking water supply from the past several days, however the concerned department is least bothered about their genuine demand.

“We are facing an acute shortage of drinking water supply. The authorities have turned a deaf ear towards our repeated pleas. They are making no efforts to ease our difficulties,” Amjid Shakoor, a local resident said.

'Har Ghar Nal Sy Jal' claim of government has fallen flat as we have been suffering due to the scarcity of drinking water supply from at least 20 days, said Abdul Hameed, another local. "We are being forced to fetch water and drink contaminated water which is unhygienic and health hazardous for us", Hameed added.

They however, appealed concerned authorities again to look into the matter and fulfill their demand at the earliest.(KNS)
