Dr Farooq, Omar Abdullah condole demise of noted Urdu poet Rahat Indori, Peer Jalal ud Din

 

Srinagar, August 12:(KNS) Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President Mr. Omar Abdullah have expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the demise of noted Urdu poet Rahat Qureshi aka Rahat Indori.

While expressing grief over the demise of noted Urdu poet, the party president said that his demise is indeed a colossal loss to the literary world. “He has left a deep impression on the hearts and minds on millions of people across the country with his captivating poetry. With his poetry he showed a mirror to the people; sought to bridge communal divides and identify malevolency in the society. One of the most popular voices of the contemporary times, his poetry had a range. His typical style of rendition, and his powerful words agitated the national conscience. A showstopper of Mushaira’s, his contribution to the world of Urdu literature will be commemorated year after year. I pay my tributes to the great revolutionary poet. I pray to Almighty to bestow upon him the highest stations in Jannah. I share the grief of admirers, family and friends of his. I express my solidarity with them in their hour of grief. Rahat Sahib will continue to live through his poetry,” he said.

Party Vice President while condoling the demise of Rahat Indori said, “I am deeply saddened by the passing away of Rahat Sahib, a household name in India and one of the most celebrated contemporary Urdu poets. He was a fearless poet of our times. He will be remembered for his deeply rich and reflective poetry. I pray for peace to his soul and strength to the family and admirers of his, in their hour of grief.” Among others Muhammad Shafi Uri, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, and Muhammad M Y Taing have also condoled the demise of Rahat Indori Sahib.

Meanwhile the party president and vice president have also expressed grief over the demise of noted religious figure Pir Jalal Ud Din Sahib aka Lal Sahib of Batamaloo. He was the elder brother of Muhammad Sidiq, Head HRD Wing of the Greater Kashmir news paper.

In his message party president, Dr Farooq prayed for peace to the deceased and fortitude to the bereaved family in their hour of grief. He has also expressed unison with the grief-stricken family, terming the deceased a virtuous and a noble soul. “I pray to Almighty to bestow the highest echelons in Jannah to the deceased. Late Lal Sahib shall be known for his religious, scholarly and pious endowments. I express my solidarity with the family and admirers of lal sahib, in particular his younger brother Muhammad Sidiq Sahib in their hour of grief,” he said.

Meanwhile Party’s GS Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Irfan Shah and spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also condoled the demise of Lal Sahib, prayed for peace to departed soul, and expressed solidarity with the family and admirers of his. (KNS)
