Bandipora, July 02(KNS): Dr. Yasir Bhat was elected as the District President of the Private Schools' Association (PSA) Bandipora during the association's district elections held at the Town Hall, Bandipora, on Wednesday.

 

The elections, described by the organisers as peaceful, transparent, and democratic, witnessed the participation of representatives from private schools across all five educational zones of Bandipora, marking the first time that schools from every zone participated in a unified district-level electoral process.

 

Besides the election of Dr. Yasir Bhat as President, Ms. Shameema Ji was elected as Vice President, Ms. Shabnam as District Secretary, and Mr. Ghulam Nabi Ahanger as District Treasurer.

 

The polling process was conducted under the supervision of senior officials from the Education Department, including the Chief Education Officer, Bandipora, along with office bearers of the Private Schools' Association Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK), who oversaw the proceedings to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

 

Speaking after the declaration of results, the newly elected office bearers expressed gratitude to the member schools for reposing faith in their leadership. They pledged to work collectively for the welfare of private educational institutions, strengthen unity among member schools, safeguard their interests, and contribute to improving the quality of education in the district.

 

The election assumes significance as it comes amid recent differences over the leadership of the private school association in Bandipora, with parallel groups staking claim to represent the district's private schools. Organisers, however, maintained that the participation of schools from all five educational zones reflects the broad-based support and inclusive nature of the electoral process.

 

Members present on the occasion expressed hope that the newly elected body would work towards bringing greater coordination, unity, and effective representation of private schools in Bandipora before the administration and other stakeholders.(KNS).
