DPIIT organises Training Cum Workshop for operation of portal to avail incentives under ‘New Central Sector Scheme’

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25 (KNS): A Training Cum Workshop for operation of Portal for registration and availing of incentives under “New Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development of J&K as well as an interactive session with Industrial Association of the Valley was today organised by DPIIT and NIC at Sanatghar, Bemina here.

The workshop was presided over by Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India, Rajindera Ratnoo and was conducted by team from DPIIT including Narinder Singh Arneja, Yatindra Saxena and Anil Kumar Awasthi as well as expert from E&Y Vishesh Singh.

During the workshop, the DPIIT team gave the detailed presentation to the officers/officials of Directorate of Industries & Commerce, and District Industries Centres of Kashmir province about the operation of the NCSS portal for registration of units, Working Capital Interest Subvention, Capital Interest Subvention, Capital Investment Incentive, and GST linked incentives claim application forms and subsequent uploading of documents.

The team also gave live demonstration of Portal regarding filling of registration and claim forms for availing different incentives under NCSS-2022 to Industrial Associations and Unit Holders.

During the sidelines of the workshop, the Joint Secretary also held a meeting as well as one on one interactive cum question answer session with the Field functionaries of the department and enlightened them about the Scheme and the portal requirements.

During the meeting, Director Industries and Commerce, Kashmir, Saloni Rai informed that the department has so far approved 33 cases for registration under the New Central Sector Scheme and is undertaking series of seminars in in the industrial estates and District Industrial Centers to generate awareness about the benefits of the scheme.

Later, the Joint Secretary DPIIT also held an interaction with representatives of Industrial Association of Kashmir valley.

During the interaction, the Joint Secretary enlightened the association members about the various benefits of the incentives for manufacturing as well as service sectors under the New Central Sector for the development of UT of Jammu and Kashmir. He asked the association representatives to help the department in creating the awareness about the scheme among the entrepreneurs of the valley.

The representative of various Industrial associations of the valley comprising of President FCIK, presidents of all industrial estates of the Valley, representatives of Hotel Industries, District Presidents and the unit holders who had applied under NCSS-2021 highlighted various issues faced by them with regard to NCSS-2021 and IDS-2017.

The Joint Secretary assured them that all outstanding issues will be resolved on priority assured full support and active role from the DPIIT for implementation of the incentive policy for the industrial development of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

The association representatives appreciated the team for the workshop and lauded the role of Joint Secretary for acting as bridge between them and New Delhi.

On the occasion, the Joint Secretary also presented first registration under the scheme to M/S AL-Karam Polytank ,IGC Lassipora.(KNS)
