Srinagar, Aug 2 (KNS): The Government of Jammu & Kashmir, in association with the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (DP World PGTI), on Sunday announced the fifth edition of the J&K Open, set to be held at the scenic Royal Springs Golf Course here from August 4-7, 2026.
The tournament, which marks the resumption of the DP World PGTI season post its mid-season break, will see a prize purse of INR 1 crore, a significant increase from the previous edition’s INR 50 lakh.
The field will feature some of India’s leading professionals, including current DP World PGTI Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, Veer Ahlawat, Om Prakash Chouhan, Manu Gandas, defending champion Shaurya Bhattacharya, and Angad Cheema, among others. Local professionals from Jammu & Kashmir — Arindam Sudan, Fayaz Ahmed Langoo, Adnan Mubarik Rah, and Pawan Parihar — are also part of the line-up.
The event was officially launched with the unveiling of the DP World India Championship Lotus Trophy in Srinagar, in the presence of Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir; Hemant Kumar Ruia, Country Manager (India), DP World; Amandeep Johl, CEO, DP World PGTI; cricketer Auqib Nabi; and golfer Saptak Talwar.

The Royal Springs Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones II, is ranked among Asia’s most beautiful courses, set against the Zabarwan Mountains and overlooking the Dal Lake.
The event is part of J&K Tourism’s push to promote golf tourism in the region, which already boasts notable courses including Jammu Tawi, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg.
The tournament is supported by DP World as the Umbrella Partner, alongside Axis Bank, Amul, Amrutanjan Enerlyte, Campa, Air India Maharaja Club, and Kalyani. (KNS)
