Srinagar June 23, (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Tuesday censured the Govt over its decision to fragment & allow departments to function from Kashmir as well as Jammu, describing it as an attempt to create void between the regions, which has to be rectified in the larger interest of the diversity and unity in J&K.
The JKPCC has expressed serious concern over the Govt decision to split bi-annual Darbar Move by keeping various key departments in Jammu as well as in Kashmir division, describing it as very unfortunate and anti-people move and urged the Govt to revisit its decision as that, such decisions tantamount to putting further burden on the common people, who were already depressed due to the wrong policies adopted by the Centre, he said in a statement issued to KNS.
There were already lot of hardships confronting people on various fronts and such orders have the potential to further add miseries to people and create misunderstanding on the ground, PCC said.
The special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir was taken away without caring about the urges and aspirations of the people, then the Centre started making and incorporating different laws, which have obviously not gone well in J&K, now the historical Dabar Move has been split on the directions of some authorities at the higher level, which is very surprising rather shocking to people in two diverse regions, JKPCC said.
The people in all the three regions Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have been living together in an atmosphere of amity and communal harmony, ironically efforts were being made to divide people on one pretext or the other, but the people of all the three regions in unison would defeat such designs, PCC said
The latest decision to station key departments in Jammu as well as in Kashmir amid Covid 19 crisis will have its serious implications on the people, as they (people) have to pass through difficult terrains from Jammu as well as Kashmir inorder to get their issues resolved in two Secretariats, it is ultimately the people, who will suffer on this count, JKPCC said.
Congress Party understand that whatever the State and Centre Govt decides at its own will with regard to Jammu and Kashmir after scrapping Special Status sans logic, there were also deliberate attempts to make people suffer on various counts, reflective of petty politics being played by BJP, which is highly deplorable. JKPCC said.
Congress Party urges upon the Govt not to disturb the old practice of historical Darbar Move, as that, it will continue to strengthen the bonds of unity and brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir, besides ensuring that people do not face further hardships on this front. Congress added. (KNS)
