Director ULB take stock of situation ahead of Ramadhan, passes directions to officials in wake of Covid-19 pandemic

Srinagar, Apr 21 (KNS):Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir Riyaz Ahmad Wani on Tuesday took stock of the situation ahead of Ramadhan and emphasized for absolute sanitation in all residential areas of ULB Kashmir.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Director ULB Kashmir held a telephonic conference with elected representatives and chief executive officers, executive officers of various municipal councils and committees and emphasized fool proof sanitation in areas falling under ULB Kashmir during the forthcoming month of Ramadhan. At the occasion, he passed instructions for strict adherence by the municipal councils and committees across Kashmir division.

He said no religious gatherings may be allowed in any area of jurisdiction of Municipal Committee Srinagar as already advised and ordered by authorities and added social distance shall be observed as per SOP’s.
Wani directed officials to ensure complete compliance of the imposition of lockdown ordered by the government and emphasized upon the establishment of control rooms in every town for addressing the distress calls from any quarter or person. He directed officials to ensure cleaning of drains, lanes and water bodies falling within the jurisdiction of priority basis.

He stressed upon the need that special sanitation drives shall be conducted in the whole town in general and designated red zones in particular, with special emphasis on the entry and exit points of the red zones and added that there should be kept special provision of sanitizing of all vehicles and persons entering into these areas with essentials and other required services.

He further directed officials that sanitize indoors and outdoors by approved chemicals which should be as per the standard ration. (KNS)
