Srinagar, June 29 (KNS): Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Maqsood-ul-Zaman on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting at Baltal to assess security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, stressing coordination among all departments to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage.
Maqsood-ul-Zaman, who is the overall supervisory officer for security arrangements on the Baltal axis of the annual pilgrimage, reviewed preparedness with representatives of various security agencies and civil departments.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from the police, CID, Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), Traffic Police, NDRF, UTDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, Health Department, Civil Administration, Telecom, KPDCL, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Rural Development Department (RDD) and other agencies associated with the conduct of the yatra.

Officials discussed security deployment, traffic management, disaster preparedness, medical facilities, communication networks, sanitation, power and water supply, emergency response mechanisms and overall arrangements for pilgrims.
The DIG directed all departments to work in close coordination, maintain effective communication and remain fully prepared to facilitate the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
He laid emphasis on ensuring the safety and convenience of pilgrims while adhering to standard operating procedures.
The officer said the success of the yatra depends on collective efforts and called upon all stakeholders to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and professionalism to ensure a safe and hassle-free pilgrimage for devotees.(KNS).
