DGP sanctions rupees 94 lakh in favour of NoKs of martyred/deceased Police personnel/SPOs

Jammu, Jan 10 (KNS): Continuing with its welfare initiatives to provide financial assistance to the next of kins of martyrs/deceased Police personnel/SPOs, the Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned special welfare relief of Rupees ninety four lakhs and welfare relief of Rupees 5.4 lakh in favour of NoKs of martyred Police personnel/SPOs under different order of PHQ.

Under PHQ's orders, Special Welfare Relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of martyr ASI Ghulam Hassan, martyr SgCt. Shafeeq Ahamed, and Ct. Rameez Ahmad, who attained martyrdom in a terrorists attack in Zewan last month. Special Welfare Relief of rupees 22 lakh has also been sanctioned in favour of deceased Follower Niyaz Ahmad Shah and special relief of rupees six lakh in favour of deceased SPO Arjun Singh.

The special welfare relief has been sanctioned out of the Contributory Police/SPOs Welfare Fund.

Meanwhile, the DGP under another order has sanctioned rupees 50 thousand each in favour of ten parents of martyr Police personnel/SPOs to meet their immediate financial requirements. Similarly, rupees 40 thousand have been sanctioned in favour of parents of a martyr for their treatment. 

Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired police personnel and their families. (KNS)
