DG Horticultural inaugurates 6 months training on fruit & vegetable preservation

Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNS): Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (KAS), Director General Horticulture, Kashmir on Friday inaugurated six (06) months training course on Fruit & Vegetable Preservation. Thirty candidates from different parts of the valley will be imparted training by the experts of the Departments on preservation of Fruits and vegetables. Besides, Director General, Chief Canning and Processing Instructor, Srinagar, Chief Horticulture Officer, Srinagar and other officers attended the inaugural ceremony.

On the occasion, Director General said that the Department is committed to promote the Horticulture sector in the valley by encouraging the youth to adopt new techniques for better livelihood. He said that such training courses would provide opportunities to the aspirants to generate employment not only for themselves but for others as well.  He further said that the youth should take part in these types of training courses for skill development. He further said that the Department will provide the trainees every possible help in establishing the units.

The Director General instructed the Chief Canning and Processing Instructor, to impart training to the students through online as well as offline mode for the ease of trainees. He further instructed the CCI that he should let the trainees conduct visits of various already established units, to enable them get practically knowhow about them.

On the demand of trainees, Directed General assured them that he would take every step to increase the stipend in their favour to a maximum possibility. (KNS)
