Development cannot happen without peace: LG Manoj Sinha

Srinagar, July 14 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor J&K Manoj Sinha Friday reiterated that developmental activities cannot happen without peace in place.


Speaking at the event, the LG Sinha as per KNS said that Jammu and Kashmir was once considered hotspot of terrorism but today it is known as hub of tourism and developmental activities.

“In past J&K was known for terrorism but due to efforts taken by the Central and UT Governments the region has become a hub of tourism and developmental activities,” LG Sinha said.

He emphasized upon students to concentrate on studies and take the nation to newer heights. “Students must concentrate on their studies and contribute in nation building to make the India superpower nation,” he said.

Hinting towards neighboring country Pakistan, the LG said earlier strike calls were being issued across the border to sabotage peace and hamper developmental process in J&K but today situation has entire changed and people are paying deaf ear to their directives.

“Gone are the days when schools would have been shut by the strike calls given across the border. Everyone should keep this thing in mind that peace and development cannot be in place without peace,” LG added.

He said in 2022 the J&K witnessed huge influx of tourists that broke all previous records. “Around 1.88 lac tourists visited J&K in 2022. We are hopeful the footfall with touch 2 crore this year,” he said. (KNS)
