Department of English, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts, CLUJ organises Lecture Series

Jammu 19 June (KNS): The Department of English, School of Humanities and Liberal arts, Cluster University of Jammu organized Online Lecture Series on “Introduction and Techniques to Creative Writing” for the students of UG/PGI English Honours.

Dr. Geetanjali A. Rana, Dean Faculty of Arts, CLUJ opined that the lectures are organized to hone the multiple skills of learners. She also stressed on the need of developing creative thoughts, using imaginative ideas and also how to overcome stress in life.

Dr. Asif Khan from the Department of Convergent Journalism and School of Media Studies, Central University of Kashmir was the Resource Person for the lecture series wherein he deliberated on topics like Creative and Critical Writing, Book Review, Stress Management and Body Language/ Gestures. He deliberated on the need of employing blended learning in the field of creative writing and critical thinking. He also accentuated on having a good body language complemented by gestures inorder to improve communication process. Students were also acquainted with the positive and negative side of stress and the ways of improving productivity in a stressful situation. Students from PG Integrated English Honours and UG English Honours from semesters 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th attended the lecture series.

Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare and Coordinator PGI English Honours, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts, CLUJ exhorted that the series have been conducted to expose students to the myriad genres of Creative writing and Communication Skills commensurate to the modern digital trends in teaching and learning. The proceedings of the lecture series were conducted by Dr. Eva Sharma and Dr. Indu Sharma, Faculty of the Department.(KNS)
