Sopore, Oct 14 (KNS): The widening and macadamisation of an Tarzoo-Aalibagh road in Sopore area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district has got disrupted due to delay in shifting of various utility lines along the stretch.

Locals told Kashmir News Service (KNS), the work on the road has been lingering as the Jal Shakhti (PHE) Department and the Power Development Department (PDD) have allegedly disinclined to shift utility lines from the road.

They said that the road is in a dilapidated condition as there are potholes everywhere, thus making it difficult to commute and consumes a lot of time who have to reach from one place to another along the road.

Official sources said that the water supply pipes and few transmission lines laid along the road had not been shifted by the concerned departments despite repeated pleas.

"We wrote them many a time but to no avail. Due to their indifference the work has got disrupted. It is only in their control to shift these lines," said an official at R&B Division Sopore.

Meanwhile, officials from Jal Shakhti (PHE) department said that they are ready to cooperate once the department engaged in road widening and macadamisation will start it's process.

Despite repeated attempts officials from the Power Development Department (PDD) could not be contacted. (KNS)
